What is Voiceitt?

Voiceitt is an app supporting spoken communication for people with non-standard speech. You can use Voiceitt to communicate by voice with others and with voice activated devices like Alexa!

In the app, you can create a personalized dictionary with phrases of your choice. Next, you'll train the app to recognize your unique pronunciation of each phrase. At this time, Voiceitt will only recognize phrases that have been trained. Then, you can use the phrases in conversation and with voice activated devices!


Who is Voiceitt right for?

Voiceitt supports users with non-standard speech. 

We also recommend users have the  following criteria:

  • Have dysarthria with consistent pronunciation

  • Can be understood by familiar listeners (family and caregivers) but not by strangers

  • Use utterances to convey a message (ex. asking for food when hungry)

  • Able to operate mobile devices independently or using an accessibility switch

  • Able to understand written app instructions or have a caregiver who can assist with set up

How can I download Voiceitt?

Voiceitt is on the Apple App Store! We offer a 30 day free trial with your purchase. 


What device do I need to use Voiceitt?

Currently, Voiceitt is compatible with iPhones and iPads that run iOS12 or above. To check your software version on your device, go to Settings > General > Software Version.

Please note:

  • The app interface (instructions, settings, error messages) are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Hebrew. 

  • The app’s default phrases are in English. 


Can Voiceitt understand anything I say?

The app does not understand spontaneous speech (yet!) We currently operate on a closed dictionary model, which means that each individual phrase needs to be programmed and trained, until the app recognizes your unique pronunciation of that phrase.
